Upgrading the original drive in your Mac is a great way to improve performance and/or increase the storage capacity of your Mac. When transferring data from one drive to another, we highly recommend you install a fresh copy of macOS, and then use Apple's Migration Assistant to migrate the data to the new drive. Within the install drive, delete Sources ei.cfg to enable the prompt to choose a different Windows 10 edition such as Pro or Education. Otherwise, it will default to the current edition (Home). Microsoft Security Essentials reached end of service on January 14, 2020 and is no longer available as a download. Microsoft will continue to release signature updates (including engine) to service systems currently running Microsoft Security Essentials untill 2023.

Why is Microsoft Security Essentials no longer available?
Windows 7 is no longer supported and availability of new installations of Microsoft Security Essentials has ended. We recommend all customers move to Windows 10 and Windows Defender Antivirus for our best security option.
